Have we ever found out where Otto got his ring? I remember the lost story of him and his old crew, where he already had the ring but not if there is a story of how he got it.
Sidenote: Really loved that story of him and his old crew where they where a low-magic infiltration group. Really cemented him as my favorite member of Belphanior's crew!
So...that would have predated not only the first appearance of Otto in episode 218, but also the lost tale showing Otto during his time with Greyspire's special forces. I haven't tended to dig too much into the back history of people, though it could happen one day. (This feels like it would be best suited as one episode of a long prequel series focused on just Otto - but of course I don't have the time to do that.)

Off course, you are writing so much already. And it's 'just' a magical item, doesn't have a huge impact on the stories. It's just that Otto is one of my favorites and really like his character and no-nonsense approach. His pre Belphanior's antics just feel like a treasure trove waiting to be unveiled.

I'll think about it. The main challenge is that every word I write about someone's past is one less word I write about the current events (i.e. the new stories.)
