A Thousand, and Beyond

So I finally finished episode 999 before 2015 ended, which is good. In roughly the order I'd like to accomplish them, here are my writing goals for 2016:

  1. update all sections of the website (except the three noted below) with current information as appropriate
  2. finish and release episode 1000
  3. update the "Character Sheets" section of the website including at least nominal identification of 99% of their magic items
  4. update the "Magic Items" section of the website with anything unusual from step #3
  5. update the "Rogues' Gallery" section of the website
  6. figure out exactly what I'm going to write after episode 1000

There are two options for #6. The first is to simply continue the active plotlines, i.e. there won't be anything super special about that episode aside from its numerical significance. The second option is to put the Adventurers on "pause" after episode 1000 (perhaps with some momentous event like the start of the Greyhawk Wars happening in that episode) and work on a side project and see how that goes. The level of power, magic items, opponents, etc that I'm at these days is becoming tiresome to write well. I want to be clear: I'm not done, and I'm not needing a break. I just want to see if I can develop some other characters, possibly existing, possibly new. It might be something as simple as a miniseries-type thing about one of the tangential groups like the Misadventurers, or the new group of vampire hunters introduced in episode 989, or the Cabal (Parekh, Pallin, Wu, etc.) Or a miniseries finally settling the business of Halbarad, Peyote, Rillen, et al on that distant, mysterious, magic-less isle. And just typing all of this makes me think that a miniseries might, depending on its characters, belong within regular Adventurers episodes and numbering.

I'm not sure yet, but I wanted to share my thoughts anyway. I know the writing has gotten really sporadic in recent years. Thanks for hanging in there.
