Having read baseball legend Ty Cobb's autobiography (from 1961, the year he died and almost half a century ago!) I feel strongly obligated to point something out. Cobb's been portrayed in the media as a completely hostile, bordering-on-evil man. According to his side of the story, it was more a matter of people getting back at him for small slights and for his devotion to playing the game with maximum effort. I just want to relay this to people...just about every negative claim or story about the man has (according to him) a rational explanation, or is simply not true. If you like baseball or just want to know the whole story, I encourage you to read this book as well: "Ty Cobb: My Life in Baseball."
