Well, by now everyone who didn't know about the surprise portrait of the Adventurers is aware of it. Let me tell you, it was a surprise for multiple reasons. Not only did I never expect such an idea, but I never would have thought that all the semantics (collecting money, dealing with artist, etc) could be successfully pulled off.
On top of that, the picture is absolutely perfect. Every character fits my mental image of exactly what he or she looks like. This portrait should be considered canon as far as physical characteristics of the various Adventurers. I couldn't have represented them better if I was a great artist myself (which I'm not).
I'd like to extend a big "thank you" to David Murphy, who organized this whole thing (and also handles a lot of the website and mailing list details so that I can focus on simply writing), as well as to all of you who contributed to the funding of this portrait. It is an important piece of the overall saga and I'm glad it's here.
