Selling Out

I've spent all week in an information technology management class. Why? Because there's no career path for technical people. The money and growth are in management. I could do a dissertation on it at this point, but for now I only offer these insights:

  1. it should not take three hours to illustrate how to monitor progress of a project and make sure it's going to meet its deadline
  2. project managers have been trained not to think about how the actual work gets done
  3. someone should make more comfortable dress shoes
