Movie Bonanza 2002
Friday 3 May 2002
In recent posts, I've talked about just about everything else, so in the interest of throwing in some variety,
I present my short list of upcoming movies I'll see if I have the time.
- The Scorpion King (4/19) - Actually, I just saw this one. It was the ultimate guy movie -
full of battle, swords, fire, and women. And more battle. It also made me think about writing again.
Here's the official site.
- Jason X (4/26) - I saw this one last week. Yes, I know it's not that great and I wouldn't ever, say, OWN it.
But that's okay. I got what I knew I'd get, and what I wanted: mindless slasher mayhem.
Here's the official site.
- Spider-Man (5/3) - After "Blade" and "X-Men" in recent years, the comic-book-to-movie trip has become
easier to make, with better results. This one looks good.
Here's the official site.
- Star Wars episode 2 (5/16) - I need not say anything about this. I'll see it, in due time,
but I won't fight crazed mobs to see it right away.
Here's the official site (as if you couldn't find it.)
- The Sum of All Fears (5/31) - More Jack Ryan, but without Harrison Ford. I'll give the new guy a chance.
Here's the official site.
- The Bourne Identity (6/14) - I saw the trailer for this recently; it looks like a thinking person's action movie.
Here's the official site.
- Reign of Fire (7/12) - Dragons vs men, and in the future, not a fantasy setting!
I'd never have known about this movie except for the trailer I saw.
Here's the official site.
- Halloween: Resurrection (7/19) - See my comments on "Jason X."
The very first "Halloween" movie made enough of an impression on me to merit catching this one,
especially after I saw the trailer.
Here's the official site, though at this time
the trailer isn't yet on the internet.
